Two new things.
First of all, you may, or may not (LOOK!), notice the added sidebar app. Now you can receive e-mail updates regarding this blog, or the business of Reverie Rendition! Yay! I only ask for your first name. Real or fake, it doesn't really matter. It's always fun to make up a name anyways. If I could change my name it would certainly be Anastasia. I always loved that cartoon movie! Then I ask for the state and country you live in, just so I can track you down if I ever need to. Just kidding. It's just so I can get a general idea of my audience. Again, if you don't feel comfortable, make one up. Maybe you live in the country of Alangoklia, in the state Cherimina. I heard the weather is nice there. Then, of course, I request your e-mail. PLEASE DO NOT make this one up - I really don't want to send e-mails to the unwilling recipients. I can just imagine. 'What the *insert cuss word here* is THIS?! Don't ever e-mail me! EVER!!! BLAH Blah blah...' Please, put your honest e-mail in the little box. :)
What? You want to know what your going to get? Too bad. No, just kidding. If you select 'Reverie Rendition Blog' you will receive e-mail updates when I come up with new blog posts. If you choose 'Reverie Rendition on Etsy' you will get e-mails notifying you when new pictures are added and when any special promotions are going on. Or you can be super cool and select both!
Next is a little piece for any other business dummies like me. Read, or skip on to the AWESOME, AMAZING, OMG NEWS BELOW. (I've resisted from using 'omg' in my blog, but this occasion definitely calls for it!)
To send these newsletters I am using a site called Mad Mimi. Love the name! Mad Mimi makes it super easy to create beautiful and professional newsletters to send to your customers. You can insert banners and pictures, choose where you want the type to be places, and customize the color scheme. It really is wonderful. Plus, there are videos to help you understand everything. There is a free version available that allows up to 100 contacts. If you have more than that you can pay a small fee. You don't have to have any knowledge of HTML or other web formatting to use it - they even provided the sign up list that I put on my blog. I really recommend it.
Now to the good stuff, the AMAZING stuff...
A wonderful, magnificent lady from Ocean Shores, Washington contacted me. She has just opened a shop down there and (OMG) asked if I would like to display and sell MY artwork there! I hope my coworkers didn't notice the huge, cheesy grin that has been unremovable from my face for the last few days. Of course, I tried really hard to contain my excitement until I had a little confirmation that it wasn't a joke. I did some searching around online and found this Facebook page for the business. It's a charming little building isn't it? Also, thanks to the awesome sellers on Etsy, I received some great advice on what to do and what to ask for concerning this. Right now I have the contract that I need to ask a couple questions on, but all in all, it's looking pretty good.
I really was shocked by this opportunity. I was sitting on the couch with my laptop balancing on the arm when I read the little Etsy e-mail. I'm not going to admit to getting up and dancing around the living room, but, I was really excited.
