Lunchbreak 6/14

I can't decide if I want to eat Kraft macaroni and cheese, or Maruchan's home-style Japanese noodles for lunch. So while I contemplate the pros and cons of each, I shall blog.

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed, though I still can't tell if it is good or bad. I feel like I need a list, some sort of organization so I don't miss anything or lose my mind.

- Make new business cards to take to the Forest Fair. The old ones are lame. I need new ones! Maybe I will make them shiny, add some glitter, a little ribbon and some bells and whistles. Or, I could just add the link to the blog, maybe that will help get some attention, rather than making business cards that weigh five pounds.

- Make prints of art for the Forest Fair. I was supposed to do this last weekend, but forgot. See, I really do need a list. Also, OMG OMG OMG - my mat boards are supposed to arrive tomorrow and I cannot wait. It's almost a little sad how excited I am for a bunch of cardboard pieces with big holes in them. Oh well. In case anyone is wondering, or any fellow artists are interested, I ordered the mat boards from a website called Documounts. Though I haven't received my order yet and i can't comment on the product, I can say that they shipped out much sooner than expected. Considering it takes time for them to actually cut the mats, since all of mine were custom sizes, plus the time for shipping, I paid extra for the express production and should receive them sooner than expected. Very pleased.

- Take my graduation ring into the jewelers to have it checked out. I have to take it every six months, or else the warranty expires. And I definitely wouldn't want the warranty to expire since I already had to use it. It's a beautiful ring, with little tanzanite stones, and after the first week of wearing it, one fell out! I was shopping at the Gap, and looked down to see an empty setting! I'm sure you can imagine my horror. The people at Gap must have thought we were insane, because for a while we were walking around staring at the floor, covering every inch of the floor looking for that tanzanite stone. Luckily though, I had the warranty which supplied me with a replacement stone.

- I need to finish unpacking. Seriously. My cluttered room of cardboard boxes is starting to get on my nerves.

- Find someway to change up my pasta. When I went grocery shopping last weekend, pasta was $1.00 a box! That's almost 50% OFF! So I bought some. Okay, maybe a lot. Anyways, I need to figure out a way to not have it all taste the same. I was thinking about getting some chicken and beef broth, and some spices/spice mixes. If I come up with anything ingenious I will be sure to let you know.

- Get a backpack. I am finding that the lovely little purse/convertible backpack I bought is nice, but doesn't fit everything I would like it to. I need something that can hold at least two text books, a water bottle, an umbrella, my wallet, a pair of jeans (because Job #1 isn't casual 4 out of 5 days of the week, and jeans are much more comfortable for school/Job #2), my wallet, phone, iPod, a small makeup bag, and a snack. So I need it to be large, all while being stylish. Also, I'd like one that has a variety of pockets so I'm not left digging around in a cave of a purse. That's not too much to ask for is it? I was looking at REI's backpacks, and they actually have some nice ones that aren't too expensive. One that I am looking at, the reviewers said they could fit their sleeping bag, plus a change of clothes into.

- Get some flats. One of my favorite pairs are being destroyed. I can't wear them in the rain because water can seep in through the side seams because they are too worn out. :( Poor shoes.

- Get a comforter. I really, really, REALLY want a down comforter. The ones in the stores are way too expensive though, so I went to the Internet to shop. The downside, though, is that i can't actually feel it before I purchase it, and I want a FLUFFY one. A REALLY REALLY FLUFFY ONE. FLUFFY! But I did some research, and can tell you that 700 fill power, is top of the line. 500 is good, probably just fine for most people. Also, you definitely want a down comforter with baffle box construction. That is how they try to prevent all of the down from moving around and falling to the edges, leaving flat, down-less areas. So, in case you are in the market for a down comforter, keep those two things in mind.

That's all for now, but I am sure that more will come later. I am making a new page dedicated to my list, and as I get things done, I will cross them off. And as I think of new things, I will add them. Oh, and I decided Maruchan for lunch. ;)
