It's pretty darn intimidating when you think about it. Blogging. There are so many out there. Who's going to read? Who's going to care? Maybe and handfull of people. Maybe hundreds. Maybe none.
That's okay though. I'm just bored anyways. So if no one reads, no problem. :)
My name is Kathryn and I am starting a blog. Want to know a little about me? First of all, I LOVE art. I like to invision it in my future, hopefully as part of a career. Rich or poor, mansion or hippie van, art makes me a little happier. I love pasta, and all types of music. I love sunny days and flowers. I love shopping (yes I know, what a surprise). I'd love to travel. I'd love to go to an art school. I'd love to live somewhere that had beautiful days every day.
Art is the main reason I am doing this whole blog thing. I draw and paint for a hobbie, always have, and people started saying,'"wow, that's pretty good, you should sell that.' I hope they were being honest, because I invested a little and started selling on etsy.com (don't worry, this isn't a commercial or a promotion. I promise. I'll ramble on about all sorts of things.) But really, I was worried. You've seen it before. When somebody asks a friend, someone who wouldn't want to hurt them, if they thought their homemade cake, the one they poured their heart and soul into, was good. Of course the friend chokes down the last few bites with a smile on her face when she really wants to slip it to the dog under the table, but nevertheless she replys, 'yes, it's wonderful, I love it.' I was hoping my cake wasn't being fed to the dog.
So I am hoping that this blog will help me sort out some of my ideas and expand my audience a little. I already started! I read a piece about branding, and how its really not just for big companies like McDonalds and Ford. It questioned me about what I want to present as a business. But I am not going to tell you, claiming or promising anything. You can figure it out. ;) I also made a logo, just to try out anyways. It's the giant title at the top of this blog. I had fun using Adobe Photoshop, which I just got for Christmas last year. Sure, there are manuals and tutorials, but it's so much funner to figure it out for yourself.
If I have kept you reading this far, you must be a little interested. You can check out more at these sites. Etsy and Facebook are for business, the blog and DeviantArt are for fun.
